Melissa Ott, DNP, PMHNP-BC, FNP-BC

Melissa OttGenesis Psychiatric Services was founded by Melissa Ott in 2007. Her primary location is in Murfreesboro, TN.

Melissa Ott received her doctorate in nursing practice from the University of Alabama, Birmingham campus.

Dr. Ott received her masters and post masters degrees in nursing from Vanderbilt University. Dr. Ott is a board certified Family Nurse Practitioner and a board certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner specializing in child, adolescent, and adult mental health. Dr. Ott also received a bachelor of science degree in nursing from Belmont University and a bachelor of science degree in psychology from the University of Pittsburgh.

Dr. Ott has previous experience in community mental health care settings, worked as a counselor, and as the assistant director of nursing at a small psychiatric hospital. Dr. Ott has also worked extensively in research involving thought disorders including schizophrenia and schizoaffective disorder.

She is the 2021 recipient of the of the Psychiatric-Mental Health Advanced Practice Excellence Award, awarded by the American Psychiatric Nurses Association, Tennessee Chapter.

Dr. Melissa Ott is the owner and operator of Genesis Psychiatric Services. She is a long-term resident of Rutherford County, residing with her husband and daughter.

Brenna Gillis, DNP, PMHNP-BC

Brenna GillisBrenna Gillis is a board certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner who provides psychotropic medication management for children, adolescents, and adults. Her area of clinical and research interest is women’s mental health, particularly perinatal depression and anxiety. Dr. Gillis earned her Doctor of Nursing practice degree from Vanderbilt University in 2017, after having completed her Master of Science in Nursing at Vanderbilt in 2015. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Regent University.

In addition to her clinical work at Genesis, Dr. Gillis is a part-time faculty member at Vanderbilt University School of Nursing, where she co-coordinates a masters-level Professional Formation course series and teaches in the PMHNP program. She enjoys maintaining a balance between clinical and academic work.

Dr. Gillis resides in Wilson County with her husband and child.

Megan Christenberry, MSN, PMHNP-BC

Megan ChristenberryMegan Christenberry is a board certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner specializing in older adolescent and adult behavioral health. Megan earned her Master of Science degree in nursing from the University of Alabama at Birmingham and her associates degree in nursing from Columbia State Community College.

Megan enjoys working with adult patients and has extensive experience with inpatient and outpatient settings. She particularly enjoys working with patients who experience psychosis, chronic mental illness, bipolar disorder, and providing medication treatment for older adults.

Megan is a long-term resident of Rutherford County, and resides with her husband and daughter.

Adriana Beeson, MSN, PMHNP-BC

Adriana BeesonAdriana Beeson is a board certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner who specializes in child, adolescent, and adult mental health. Adriana earned her Master of Science in Nursing degree from Vanderbilt University, and she earned her bachelor degrees in Nursing and Spanish from Harding University.

Adriana enjoys working with clients of all ages. She particularly enjoys working with patients who experience mood disorders, including anxiety, depression, and bipolar disorder.

Adriana is a native of the Nashville area, and she currently resides with her husband in Davidson County.
